Tangled Up in Blue, Bridging The Generational Gap: Interview with Russ and Jesse Mustola
Consisting of a father son duo, Russ and Jesse Mustola, Tangled Up in Blue is a refreshing throwback to the classic folk rock of the 1960’s and 70’s. Guitarist and singer Russ Mustola has been immersed in music for his entire life, writing original songs since his early teen years. Russ uses 1950’s rockers like Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash, and 1960’s and 70’s icons the Beatles and Bob Dylan, to help shape his musical sound and writing style. Singing partner and son, Jesse Mustola, 25, has developed his musical swagger from listening to Bob Dylan and the Beatles when he was younger; and has since incorporated the open minded approach of Eminem and flow patterns of rapper Mac Dre into his style. This diverse blend of inspirations give Jesse an unconventional, yet appealing voice and flair. In the last year, Russ and Jesse have combined their musical talents into a rock group, building a foundation for a bridge to success.
